The Walking Rugby team at Moore RUFC is proud to announce that Vitality, the leading provider of health and life insurance, kindly made a grant for grassroots sports, which has generously provided new playing kit as part of its ongoing commitment to community sport and wellbeing.
The team which brings together former players along with new players of all ages and abilities, enjoys the inclusive, low impact game of walking rugby. The new kits was debuted at a recent Walking Rugby Festival in Northwich ,which the Moore team won.
“ We were really pleased when one of our players Matt Pollard brought Vitality on board” says Treasurer & Founder of Walking Rugby at Moore RUFC , Jem Butler . “ their support means a lot, not just because of the kit but also because it shows that businesses are recognising the value of walking rugby in promoting fitness and friendship and fostering a great community spirit.”
Walking Rugby, which started in Moore 6 years ago, is one of the fastest growing versions of the game. As Jem says “ as well as improving cardio fitness, these sessions are great for mental health and have social benefits. For some participants who may be living alone or feeling isolated, these sessions provide a social connection and sense of belonging.”
Moore RUFC is soon to start a new Ladies Walking Rugby session each Thursday at 7pm. All the sessions are completely free and Walking Rugby is played all year round.
